THE FINAL CHAPTER

Hi everyone,

Well, this is Unit 10 and the close of this term. It sure went by fast didn't it??

My advice to someone writing their first scientific paper would be to not hesitate to ask for help and to make use of all resources available to them at Kaplan in order to succeed. I would let them know that their KU Handbook for Writers proved to be an invaluable tool for me not only in this class, but in all of my others and to make sure they set aside enough time to complete their paper within the time limits that have been set by the instructor.

I will you all the luck with whatever goals you set for yourselves. I really did enjoy this class and learned a great deal from it.

Week 9 Already!! :(

Hi everyone!!

Can you believe this is Unit 9 already!?! Well, tonight was the last seminar and I must say I am going to miss the Professor and classmates. It was a fun class to learn together. I wish you all the best of luck in all you seek to accomplish in life and I hope to see you in future classes.

I think the only think that I am worried about at this point in regards to this class is receiving a good grade on my paper. It is down to the wire and I still have some issues to work out as far as my paper is concerned.

Once again, good luck to you all and see you around!!

P.S. - These are my five year old twins, Nivek (pronounced Nyvik) and Kelisa. Their dad's name is Kevin, and so when Nivek was born my husband decided to give Nivek his name in reverse. I couldn't let him come up with such a unique name without me coming up with Kelisa's name.....which is Kevin and Lisa combined. The family said we really are vain. :)

WEEK 8 IS ALMOST OVER!!!

Hi everyone!

I am feeling pretty good this week. Can you believe we are in week 8 already and it is almost over?!? Before you know it, week ten will have arrived.

I really appreciate the feedback that I received on my draft in the discussion board. It helped me to put some issues with my paper into perspective. I hope by utilizing the feedback it will help improve my paper.

Actually, I think that I will continue to post to the blog from time to time after this term is over and I hope to see you all still participating with it.

Good luck to everyone on their papers and with this course.

What a Beautiful Day!!

Hi everyone! The day started out cold, but ended up reaching 69 degrees here today. Finished my other flower bed and looking good!

I have to say that I actually like the peer review experience when I am on the receiving end. When it comes to giving the review I was a bit hesitant about commenting on another person's piece of work and taking a chance on "stepping" on someone's toes. Once I read our reading assignment for the week, I was a little more comfortable with the process. All-in-all, we have to keep in mind that peer reviews are utilized to help and not hinder or hurt the other person.
I wish you all luck on your papers. The weeks are winding down so fast that before you know it, this term will be over and a new one beginning.

MY BRAIN IS WORKING OVERTIME!!

Hi everyone. My brain hurts from Unit 6 work from both of my classes. :) I have to submit a sentence outline in my other class and I am still trying to finalize my first draft for our college comp II class. My goodness, I will be so glad when all of this is over and we can start the next week. It is so difficult for me to find enough quiet, quality time to complete the more involved work with all that I have to do with my three littlest children. My 17 year old daughter just obtained her learner's permit two weeks ago and needless to say she has been driving me nuts wanting to drive every and anywhere. I have found myself sneaking out of the house on a couple of occasions just to be able to drive my own car. :) It's a bummer to have "Ms. Daisy" driving me around when I just want to "get there and now".

As for my topic on Lupus, I would hope that after it is read that it will peak the interest of my readers and cause more awareness of this very serious disease.

See you all on the discussion board and blog!

Hump Day Tomorrow Already!?!

Hi everyone! This is our sweet little Ivey Belle and yes, she is even a little diva in her sleep. She gets so many hugs and kisses from the whole family that if she was a diabetic she would go into sugar shock. :)

Wow, the weeks are flying by and one more day until April. Can you believe it? I am so far not having any difficulties in my classes....and let's hope it stays that way. :) Nothing but rain, rain, and more rain the past few days our way. There is a silver lining.....70's and 80's possible for the rest of this week. I can not wait to get outside and enjoy the weather and work in my flower beds. Not to mention.....setting my kids free outside to run themselves ragged and then give them baths before bedtime so they instantly fall asleep. (Just a daily dream of mine) School is such a positive influence in my life. It gives me an outlet.

See you in discussion board and the blog!!

What a bummer of a week!

Hi everyone,

The past week has been a bit sad for me. My Godmother of twenty-four years passed away and it has been an emotional week for me. She was 87 years old and I do take comfort in knowing that she passed away peacefully in her sleep and she will no longer have to suffer from her deteriorating health.

Well, in Unit 4 we covered plagiarism. If someone used something that I created as their own idea without giving me credit I would be really upset about it. I don't like the idea of putting my time and effort into something only to have someone steal my work. I think I would have to approach the person and let them know how I felt about the situation. If it pertained to my job, I would give the person a chance to rectify the situation and if they did not.....I would be making way for my employer's regarding the act.

Well, hope you all are doing well and enjoying this beautiful weather. It is 75 degrees here now and it is 7:27 p.m. ET. I love this weather and Spring has officially sprung!!! YEAH! And not a moment too soon.

See you in seminar, discussion board, and on the Blog!
